In memory of Gordon E. Clarke (Nobby)

This site is a tribute to Gordon. He is a much loved Husband to Pauline, Dad to Tracy, and Grandad to Meggy (Jessica-Megan) and Big Boy (Nathan). He died suddenly but peacefully at home on Saturday 6th April.

Gordon worked as a lithographic printer in and around Reading for all his adult life,  having completed his City and Guilds at Reading College Art and his Apprenticeship at Lamport and Gilbert in Gun Street , Reading where he met Pauline who he married in 1965.

As a young man, Gordon played Sunday league football as goalie, and once he hung up his boots he went on to coach youth teams, including Southcote Under 17’s. In later years he found enjoyment in snooker and golf, and became team captain for both sports.

Retiring at 65,  he enjoyed cooking, (he’d wanted to be a chef, but his Dad, a true army man was having none of it) a silver surfer spending hours on YouTube . Gordon loved spending time with his family particularly enjoying when everyone was together and in more recent years he become a devoted carer to his wife Pauline.

He has left a large hole in our hearts and our lives and he will be sorely missed.
